Amaranth greens cooking tips

The amaranth vegetable is one healthy green to eat. Famously known as terere this green vegetable possesses vitamins and minerals and that will protect you from disease greying of hair and boost your immune system.
This grandmother vegetable at some point had the poverty eradication commission go nuts about it by offering 87 million Kenya shillings going to the support of  growing of the amaranth crop.
Amaranth can be used in stews, soups, fish dishes and salads. There for it is essential to reap the benefits accordingly.
To do so you can follow these simple tips that will ensure that you get all the due deserved nutrients.
When buying amaranth leaves, ensure that the leaves you purchase are fresh and bold and very lively. Avoid limping leaves as these have wilted and have lost plenty of water and nutrients as well.
Always use you leaves within 2 – 3 days after the purchase days.
Chop off the hard stems and tough roots.
Be sure to wash the leaves as frequent as possible as dirt are plenty in the amaranth leaves as it has many pockets to contain dirt.
Boil the amaranth greens in 4 or so minutes to retain the health benefit value.
If you prefer deliciously sautee`d or pan fried amaranth greens bare in mind not to let them over cook of burn.
Go…on and enjoy your tasty amaranth greens!

J C Leroux Wine Tasting : A Delight!

Good events are a rare case in Nairobi, not to forget a good drink. Willam Soklin, a  New York wine merchant once said, " What is  the definition of good wine? It should start  and  end with a smile." True to that saying, the wine was plenty and delightful at the J C Leroux wine tasting held at Alliance Francaise yesterday, 10th May,2012. The  wine tasting  courtesy  of J C Leroux  Sparkling Wine  from Distell Winemasters opened the 21st  European Film Festival at Alliance Francaise with participating countries including: Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Slovak Republic, Spain, Sweden, Serbia & Switzerland.   Below are  the sights and sounds of  the crowd and the wine, J C Leroux in sweet and dry variants that  paired up with the all sorts of cheeses and made the cocktail worth the while. It Has Been A Long While...

I do like my blog! However, I must confess, I abandoned it for a long while. So, maybe I can turn a new leaf and go back to writing? Hmm... Well, I will give it a shot. There is a whole lot to talk about, so let us get to it, shall we? " Don't Just Sit There. Do Something!" You see, I like to see businesses and people thrive. Their pain becomes my pain; their hurdles mine too. If it weren't so, why would I wake up aspiring for that morning sunshine, driven by their ambitions, teamed up with a necessity for the great pursuit. For whom; for what? Is it to be up held by the gentle relief, an ounce of 'better.' In wrapping these meandering good yet defined thoughts, I have come to the dear conclusions to roll-up sleeves of my own and all those who will and get involved. "Don't just sit there. Do something." I am reminded of that common wall paper that sits pretty in the washroom that were. If you will, manners and duty awaits.
