As we get older our bones age.It is vital to include calcium and vitamin d into our diets.
Calcium supports our bones while vitamin d improves calcium absorption and bone growth.
Osteoporosis is a disease that causes brittle and breaking bones.


By consuming your daily intakes of calcium and vitamin d. Healthy bones are yours for the taking.
The adult requirement for calcium is 1,000 milligrams and 200 international units of vitamin D.
Past the age of 50, 1200 milligrams of calcium should  be consumed, while 400 to 600  international units  of vitamin d to match.

Food s  that are rich in calcium and vitamin d include, yoghurt, milk, cheese, sardines, eggs, fish spinach, fortified cereals and  freshly  squeezed  orange juice.
Farm fresh yogurt  has 30% calcium and 20% vitamin  d. So  a cup of yoghurt daily  is bound  to keep the doctor away.


Milk can be drunk whole  or mixed  down to a  smoothie or tasty shake. One glass of milk gives you 30% of your daily calcium dose. Fortified milks may include  vitamin D.
